Cookie policy
This page explains how Affinarit uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies. It is intended to satisfy our obligations under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies allow a site to recognise your device on subsequent visits and to remember choices you have made. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are optional and require your consent.
The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
- age_ok — records that you have confirmed you are 18 or over, so we do not interrupt you with the age gate on every page. Stored in your browser’s local storage. Cleared when you clear site data.
- cookies_consent — records your cookie-consent choice (accept or reject optional cookies) so we do not show the banner on every page. Stored in your browser’s local storage. Cleared when you clear site data.
Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under PECR because they are required for the service you have requested.
Optional, analytics
- Aggregated analytics — if you accept optional cookies, we may set first-party analytics cookies that help us understand which pages of the dossier are read most often and which devices are used. The data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Retention: up to 13 months.
Optional analytics cookies are set only after you have given clear, affirmative consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Reject optional” in the banner the next time it appears, or by clearing your browser’s site data for this site.
Third-party content
The site does not embed third-party advertising scripts, social-media widgets, or tracking pixels from third-party advertising networks. Outbound links to operator sites and support services do not set cookies on Affinarit; once you follow such a link, the third party’s own cookie notice applies.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can control and delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete cookies for an individual site. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will make parts of this site stop working as expected, for example, the age gate will appear on every page load.
Changes
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and re-prompt for consent where required.
